The Long, Wonderful Day
Today was a great day.

I woke up, and Robbie brought the whole family breakfast burritos. My little cousin Colby gave me a big hug. Then I went on a really long bike ride with my little cousins Blake and Dillon and my uncle Scott. We biked along the strand to the Redondo Sea Lab, and touched the fish. Then we biked down to the harbor and went outdoor ice skating. They played old fifties rock and roll the whole time. Then we sat at a picnic table and I ate half a tuna melt. Then we biked to the Redondo pier and looked at all the weird stores, and I put 50 cents in the metal fortune teller for both the girls. We got two feet away from a brown pelican, and then we walked back down the pier and biked home. It was cold. Then I got a postcard from Coorain! Then, Avery and Duncan and the Case girls and I made a music video to the Of Montreal song "Brush, Brush, Brush." Then I took a shower. Then I hung out with Avery and Duncan until people came over for movie night. Jordan and Amy and Jordan's brother Beckett showed up, and then Scott Humbarger, and then much later Hayley and Emily. And we worked on the puzzle and watched Gerry Dee's comedy act and ate ice cream and watched Galaxy Quest. Then we played free-for-all Taboo. And we sat and talked for a long time drinking tea, and laughing.

I love sitting with good friends late at night and drinking tea and talking and laughing. It is perhaps my favorite thing to do, and I get to do it a lot. I hope that's always the case. It's so warm and comfortable and good.

It's good.

It's really very, very hard to get better.
