I like writing things. I like writing songs especially.
I WANT TO GO BACK TO TUFTS
Although, side note, life is nice and today I went on a long walk with Paige along the beach. Here is a song about one thing I really love about here:
I just wrote it.
It's called
The Western Shore
until I can come up with anything better. Also, here are
My hair was hung loose
And I picked up shells and a shoestring
Down by the sea
And the tide whispered up a soft song
Sang and shone and sparkled for me
And the shoreline carries my feet
Like moccasins, like insoles
Forged of wet, dense sand
And pale white sea foam
O, the singing summer tide
Kissed my skin and soothed my stride
I will love you evermore
The western shore
And the little kids with fingers buried in the wet sand
Drew up sand crabs and seashells with little hands
Scan the shores for a muscle or a clam or a stone
Pick up sea glass and driftwood and carry them home
Bring the plastic sieves, sort the shovels and pails
For the land of the gulls and the seals and the whales
The tide came in and out
Washed all about
Our ankles and toes
Water stinging my nose
Let the sun thin our clothes
We are caught in the throes
Of the world we found outside
Of the singing summer tide
