The Thing About Tufts [28 Jan 2009|11:19pm] [ mood | grateful/happy/all things good ] [ music | Les Champs-Elysses ] Here is the thing about Tufts. Things happen all the time that are strange, because they are things that seem specifically tailored to my DNA. Things I didn't know before coming here, too. Like that Tufts was founded by Unitarian Universalists, or that a train runs right at the bottom of the hill, and trains are my favorite. Or that the chapel plays "Ode to Joy" at five every day. Or that the head of the English department is my ideal man. There are things in class that I learn that are so tailored to me I feel I've already known them, and classes are just bringing it out. People here. The radio station. All of it. Nearly everything, if not everything. And every day, it's like, "Hey, there's a Mountain Goats concert at the Somerville theatre, that's PERFECT" or "Hey, there's a Phd student studying this and that's EXACTLY what I'm fascinated by, to the letter."
